Not Our Identity
This series was created using found imagery from the Toronto Reference Library Archives. Each scene depicts a job that is relentlessly associated with females. Society is hard wired to associate the pronoun 'She' with each of these jobs due to history and the repetition of images in the media. The series points out this flaw in Western societies with the hope that the viewer will think twice in a future conversation before making gendered assumptions.
